The ILCMA Promote the Profession (PTP) effort was created with the mission of promoting awareness of the local government management profession and encouraging individuals to consider careers in the field.

In addition to other activities, promoting the profession also means taking the opportunity to celebrate the success of individuals and communities. The Committee will look for opportunities to continue this recognition.

The Committee will look for ways to promote the involvement of city, village, town, or county professionals in reaching out to their local high school and other educational institutions to address younger generations.

Government education begins in elementary school. An excellent opportunity for the leaders of tomorrow to learn about their local government is to hear from the professionals serving their community.
