Village of Western Springs, Part-time Records Clerk

The Village of Western Springs is accepting applications to fill a part-time Records Clerk position in the Law Enforcement Services Department. We seek an individual who is looking for a rewarding work environment and a wide range of responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

The Records Clerk is responsible for the general clerical support for the Department of Law Enforcement, including maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of privileged information. This position provides a broad range of clerical duties that involve using a computer and a variety of software to prepare research and analysis, receiving visitors and guests who call or walk-in for service and typing and preparing and filing various documents. The Records Clerk will research, record, and assemble responses for Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. The incumbent also handles mailings to residents involving community surveys and other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and the ability and desire to continue training as needed by the position.
  • 1-2 years of professional responsible experience in a clerical position.

Physical Demands/Work Conditions

While performing the duties of this job the employee will continuously sit, occasionally lift, carry, or push twenty (20) pounds or more, bend, stoop, kneel, stand, squat, type, and work at a computer for long periods of time. Verbal communication over the telephone and in-person is required.

Compensation 

The part-time Records Clerk classification receives a rate of $18.00 to $21.00/hour and is paid hourly.

Projected Schedule

Approximately 15+ hours per week
