The Village of Wilmette is seeking candidates to fill the Seasonal Leaf Collector position beginning in October and continuing through mid-December. The position will work Monday through Friday, approximately 40 hours per week from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
General Responsibilities:
Position works under the general direction of the Street Superintendent and will be responsible for sweeping, raking, loading leaves, and other related tasks required during the Leaf Collection Program.
Position Requirements:
Ideal candidate will have experience in general landscaping work, be familiar with tools and equipment used in the industry. Must be at least 18 years old and have a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). Candidate must be able to follow verbal and written instructions, work outdoors to include during adverse weather conditions, walk or stand for prolonged periods of time, and possess a valid Illinois driver’s license.
Pay and Benefit
The starting hourly rate is $19.61 and 8 hours of paid time off (PTO). After the initial 320 hours of time worked, an additional hour of PTO will be earned for every additional 40 hours worked. Selection Process:
The candidate must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination which includes a back evaluation and drug/alcohol screening, reference checks, and a driver’s license records check.
